A Straightforward & Simple Coffee Brew Ratio~
Reposting one of our previously printed monthly thoughts below:
Recently, we've found a growing number of brewers asking for a coffee recipe via email and Instagram. Yet coffee brewed is subjective to all variables and factors such as water/grinder/ machine/temperature/pour style/vessel/paper etc....
We've found the most appropriate recommendation to give for home brewers is the brew ratio and hint of a wilder extraction time.
Filter Coffee
Brew ratio: 1:16 to 1:17
(One part coffee to 16 to 17 parts water)
Our go-to starting point: 16.67 ratio - 15g to 250g water
Brewing time is 2:30 to 4:00 depending on the brewing method
Espresso Coffee
Brew ratio: 1:2 to 1: 2.6
(One part coffee to 2-2.6 parts water)
Our go-to starting point: 2:34 - 20.5g to 48g
Espresso extraction time 25-31 seconds for a flat profile espresso machine.
Adjust to individual taste preferences! Happy Brewing!
